My name is Sasha Kovaliov, I’m a meditation and mindfulness teacher. I’ve been meditating for more than 7 years and I’m grateful for this opportunity to welcome you to our group 💛 Our classes start at 6:00PM PST / 9:00PM EST and usually last for about an hour. So if you are on the east coast it’s a great way to relax before you go to bed 💤
We meditate! And if you have never meditated before – that’s wonderful! You actually have an advantage! As Shunryu Suzuki once said: “In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few”. We explore wide range of meditation practices, from basic sitting mindfulness meditation to Qigong, visualization meditations and loving-kindness. What unites all our practices is profound feeling and understanding of kindness and love towards oneself and others. We talk and share our experience in group discussions during the class as well. Everyone is free to ask questions and share. This is different from most meditation classes, in which you are a silent participant. This is a live class and we do not usually record our classes so please join us at least 5 minutes before the start. It’s a great way to get to know the people in the group and catch up with everyone. But if you are late or life gets in the way – come as you are, our doors are always open 🤗
I usually send an email with the next week’s topic and class details on the weekend and a reminder on the day of the class. It’s very easy to miss the class if it’s not on your calendar! With this link you can create a recurring event with just one click.
We have a community group to chat, share our insights and progress and just get to know the members of our community on Discord. What is Discord? Discord is an app that is similar to WhatsApp or Facebook groups. Why do we need yet another app then? There are a couple of reasons: 1. Discord is not owned by any major tech corporation and values your privacy. 2. It’s free from usual distractions, notifications, friend requests and emails. This way you can actually focus on the conversation and stop mindlessly scrolling through updates. 3. You can watch and listen to the meditations through Discord, no other app required! 4. It’s available for your phone and computer! To join the group, just click the button and it will take you through a very quick registration process. After you join the group, take a few moments to introduce yourself to the community in the #🌈introduce-yourself channel.
